On January 28, 2016, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers assigned to the Léo-Blanchette Mail Processing Centre (MPC) in Montréal intercepted a package containing near 500 g of suspected heroin concealed in coloured wooden statuettes from Kenya.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced today the seizure of 14.5 kg of suspected methamphetamine in southern Alberta. During a routine secondary examination on January 31, CBSA officers from the Del Bonita border crossing observed inconsistencies in the rocker panels of a sport utility vehicle. Upon dismantling them, they uncovered 14 packages of suspected methamphetamine.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today that it has laid seven charges against two individuals for allegedly committing fraud and acting as unauthorized immigration consultants. They also refused entry to those with criminal histories and those seeking entry to Canada for illegitimate reasons. Officers arrested ten people for suspicion for impaired driving and 23 others on outstanding warrants.
In their continued commitment to keeping our borders safe and secure, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers in southern Alberta seized 51 undeclared firearms last year, representing the largest annual total since 2012. In one case at the Carway border crossing on May 3, officers seized three undeclared firearms – including two handguns – from a storage compartment underneath a bed in a travel trailer. The Coutts border crossing recorded the most firearms seizures (39) out of any border crossing in Western Canada.
In their continued commitment to keeping our borders safe and secure, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers in Calgary have had a busy year processing nearly 2.2 million travellers and over 22,700 flights.
Throughout 2015, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers at the Edmonton International Airport were busy processing over 850,000 travellers in 8,450 flights while ensuring the safety and security of Canada.
