On September 21, 2023, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, contraband and unauthorized items were seized at Cowansville Institution, a medium-security federal institution.
The contraband and unauthorized items seized included hashish, marijuana, a ceramic blade, tobacco and a cell phone with accessories. The total estimated institutional value of the items seized is $27,890.
Between September 14 and 21, 2023, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, multiple packages containing contraband and unauthorized items were seized on the perimeter of Drummond Institution, a medium-security federal institution.
The contraband and unauthorized items seized included hashish, saw blades, tobacco and cell phones with accessories. The total estimated institutional value of the items seized is $202,900.
On September 17, 2023, correctional officers at Springhill Institution, a medium security federal institution intercepted an inmate who was attempting to bring contraband and unauthorized items into the institution.
This seizure is the result of the combined efforts of correctional officers and the detector-dog team. The contraband and unauthorized items seized includes hashish, marijuana, THC, and nicotine patches. The total institutional value of this seizure is estimated at $55,000.
On September 8, 2023, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, a package containing contraband was seized in the medium security unit at Dorchester Penitentiary.
