The contraband and unauthorized items seized included crystal methamphetamine, a cell phone and accessories, and SIM card. The total estimated institutional value of this seizure is $450,000.
On June 22, 2023, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) held a Change of Command Ceremony at Kent Institution in the Pacific Region. This occasion marked the change in command from the outgoing Warden Marie Cossette to the incoming Warden Jordan Quaroni.
On June 9, 2023, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, a package containing contraband and unauthorized items was seized on the perimeter of Donnacona Institution, a maximum-security federal institution.

The contraband and unauthorized items seized included crystal methamphetamine, computer chips, cell phone accessories, Wi-Fi detecting devices, SD cards, as well as a USB charging cable. The total estimated institutional value of these seizures is $1,150,000.
On June 8, 2023, Serge Gagnon, an inmate from the Regional Reception Centre, died while in our custody of apparent natural causes.
At the time of death, the inmate had been serving a sentence of ten years and six months for robbery, since May 19, 2023.
On June 7, 2023, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, a package containing contraband and unauthorized items was seized at Archambault Institution, a multi-level security federal institution.
The contraband and unauthorized items seized included 300 grams of hashish, 300 grams of tobacco and smoking items. The total estimated institutional value of this seizure is $37,000.
