Instead, we will help them realize the promise of Canada with a responsible plan that creates new career opportunities and grows the economy for every generation.
Canada has everything it takes to be a global leader in the full electric vehicle supply chain. We have the raw materials, like aluminum, lithium, steel, and nickel. We have a strong manufacturing base. And most important of all, we have the talented, committed, skilled people who know how to mine those materials, then they know how to transform them into fantastic products, including the amazing cars we see here.
We’re working hard to make life more affordable, with absolutely essential things like dental care, like making diabetes medicine, like making contraceptives free for Canadians. That’s going to make life more affordable for so many people.
The Indigenous Loan Guarantee Program is a very important step for Indigenous self-determination and in Canada’s path of reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples. And, as Finance Minister, I also know this is an important step for Canada’s economic growth and prosperity.

Today, too many young Canadians feel as though the deck is stacked against them. They can get a good job, they can work hard, but far too often, the reward of a middle class life, a life that is secure, comfortable, prosperous, remains out of reach.
