The Sexual Misconduct Support and Resource Centre (SMSRC) is expanding its services to include direct legal assistance at no cost to individuals, 18 years and older, who have experienced sexual misconduct in a Department of National Defence (DND)/Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) context.
The Military Police Complaints Commission (MPCC) plays a vital role in investigating Military Police (MP) interference complaints, reviewing closed and concluded public complaints led by the Military Police at the request of complainants, and leading public interest investigations and hearings. The Canadian Forces Provost Marshal (CFPM) is fully committed to, and supportive of the MPCC’s mandate, within the legislative framework afforded under Part IV of the National Defence Act.
Following the Government of Canada’s May 2024 announcement of the acquisition of 71 new aircraft as part of the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program, Lieutenant-General Eric Kenny, Commander, Royal Canadian Air Force, will unveil the aircrafts’ official names and liveries (paint schemes) at CANSEC 25. The FAcT program, operated in collaboration with SkyAlyne, is the next-generation RCAF Aircrew training initiative, worth $11.2 billion, that will enable aviators to operate aircraft for Canada’s rapidly modernizing Air Force over the next 25 years.
On May 14, 2025, His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) William Hall will depart from Halifax, Nova Scotia, to join Operation CARIBBE, Canada’s contribution to the U.S.-led enhanced counter-narcotics operations under the Joint Interagency Task Force South.
His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Margaret Brooke has successfully completed Operation (Op) PROJECTION, marking the end of a historic deployment to the South American, Antarctic, and Caribbean regions.
Four CF-18 aircraft from 3 Wing Bagotville will fly over Ottawa to mark the start of the Canadian Tulip Festival as part of a commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands. The flyover will take place on May 10th between 11:00 and 11:30 AM over the Tulip Festival beside Dow's Lake in Ottawa.
We pause with solemn reverence to honour the courage and sacrifice of the sailors of the Royal Canadian Navy, the Naval Reserve, the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service, the Royal Canadian Air Force, and the Merchant Navy. As we contemplate a time of renewed great power competition and with a major land war underway in Europe, their legacy resonates now more than ever.
Today, the crew of His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Ville de Québec have bid farewell to their families and loved ones at a departure ceremony held at His Majesty’s Canadian Dockyard Halifax in Nova Scotia.
Today, His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Ottawa returned to its home port of Esquimalt, British Columbia, having completed its five-month deployment to the Indo-Pacific region under Operations HORIZON and NEON.
