Laird Garfield Hindle (BA Hons [Political Studies], University of Manitoba, 1997) joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 1999. At Headquarters, he has served as deputy director in the Development Policy and Institutions Division, the International Assistance Policy Coordination Division and the Eastern and Southern Africa Division. He has also worked in the Non-proliferation and Disarmament Division. He led the preparation of Canada’s first voluntary national review of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals. Overseas, he has served in Nairobi and Tokyo.
