Yesterday, the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Jan Lipavský, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, in Prague, to reaffirm Canada and Czechia’s strong partnership and exchange on geopolitical challenges.
At a time when the world faces geopolitical and economic uncertainty, Canada and Sweden, two like-minded and trusted partners, are deepening relations to advance shared priorities for the benefit of our people and in the interest of global stability.
Minister Ng stressed the importance of continuing to implement CUSMA and strengthening North American economic ties which make the region attractive for Canadian investors. She reiterated her commitment to working with Mexico to ensure a stable and prosperous bilateral trade and investment relationship.
During their meeting, Minister Ng emphasized the need for the 3 countries to continue working together to successfully implement CUSMA in support of North America’s economic security and global competitiveness. She also highlighted CUSMA’s key role in strengthening supply chains across sectors, such as for electric vehicle manufacturing and critical minerals.
