On behalf of the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Health, the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, and the Honourable Jordan Brown, Minister of Education, Early Learning and Culture and Minister of Justice and Public Safety, Government of Prince Edward Island announced a bilateral agreement under the Government of Canada’s Emergency Treatment Fund.
Health Canada has published a Notice of Intent outlining the Department’s plans for new advertising rules for vaping. The proposed rules would restrict where advertisements could be displayed to limit their visibility to young people. They would also require health warning messages on permitted advertisements, and would restrict the display of vaping products at points of sale.
Health Canada approved with conditions the renewal of the exemption for the Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centres Supervised Consumption Services Facility in Calgary, Alberta.
