Today, Neil Ellis, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Member of Parliament for Bay of Quinte, on behalf of the Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Rural Economic Development, announced just over $700,000 in federal funding to bring high-speed Internet to 1,111 underserved households in the communities of Bancroft, Carrying Place and Mountain View, Ontario. Cogeco Connexion is investing $324,000 and Bell Canada is investing nearly $1.7 million.

The Honourable Deb Schulte, Minister of Seniors and Member of Parliament for King–Vaughan, on behalf of the Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Rural Economic Development, will announce investments in high-speed Internet that will impact the York Region communities of Vaughan and East Gwillimbury. Vaughan Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua, East Gwillimbury Mayor Virginia Hackson, a local resident and a representative of the partnering Internet service provider will join Minister Schulte.

Today, the Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Rural Economic Development, announced over $6 million in federal funding for Bell, Cogeco Connexion and Lakeland Networks. These investments will bring high-speed Internet to rural residents in 15 communities in the regions of Clarington, Lake of Bays Township, Leeds and Grenville, Merrickville-Wolford, Northumberland County, Spencerville, Newtonville, Newcastle, West Guilford, Baysville, the Municipality of Dysart et al, and Wasauksing First Nation. These projects will connect 2,374 underserved households in eastern and central Ontario to high-speed Internet.

Thanks to a $1.02-million investment, made as part of Canada–Quebec Operation High Speed, 670 households in the municipalities of Sainte-Clotilde-de-Horton, Sainte-Séraphine and Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil will have access to high-speed Internet services by September 2022. The project, totalling $1.45 million, will be implemented by Maskatel.
