Event date: March 8, 2016-The Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science, will host a reception on Parliament Hill to honour Dr. Art McDonald, Nobel Laureate in Physics 2015. Dr. McDonald's award, which he shares with his colleague Takaaki Kajita of Japan, represents a global recognition of their groundbreaking scientific experiments to demonstrate that neutrinos have mass. Prior to the reception, Minister Duncan and Dr. McDonald will attend Question Period.

Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) is a foundation that funds Canadian cleantech projects. It was founded in 2001 and is funded by the Government of Canada. SDTC provides funding and coaching to entrepreneurs to ensure that Canadian cleantech innovation grows and prospers. The government is making Canada a more digital nation by providing Prince Edward Island youth with the tools and skills they need to embrace the opportunities of the digital age. Today, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, Sean Casey, Member of Parliament for Charlottetown, announced that the Government of Canada is providing $543,500 in fiscal year 2015–16 to the P.E.I. Student Financial Assistance Corporation to fund over 60 youth internships. These internships are designed to help develop skills in the areas of small business, entrepreneurship and career awareness, with an overall focus on information and communications technologies (ICT).
