Under Italy’s 2024 G7 Presidency, we agreed to the establishment of the G7 Water Coalition, which aims to identify common goals and strategies, to catalyze shared ambitions and priorities to tackle the global water crisis, and to mainstream water and its cross-sectoral relevance in an impactful and coherent way into existing fora and processes, including by raising the political focus on water at the global level, and complementing other global initiatives.

Over the past decade, the G7 has taken significant action to advance efforts on circular economy and resource efficiency, including through the G7 Alliance on Resource Efficiency (G7 ARE) launched in 2015, the Agenda on Circular Textiles and Fashion (G7 ACT) adopted in 2024, the Berlin Roadmap on Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy (2022-2025) adopted in 2022, the Bologna Roadmap adopted in 2017 and the Toyama Framework on Material Cycles adopted in 2016.
