Moncton, New Brunswick – The second edition of the Atlantic Science Enterprise Centre public lecture series, Science 360°, will begin on February 24th with science journalist Bob McDonald. His talk is entitled “What if Everything We Know Is Wrong?” The public can reserve free tickets at www.capitol.ca or come to the Gulf Fisheries Centre the night of the event. Admission is free.

Today marks the start of the Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s Gear Innovation Summit, a two-day event in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to explore options for whale-safe fishing gear, and find innovative ways to prevent, retrieve and recycle lost or discarded fishing gear, known as ghost gear.

The Honourable Bernadette Jordan, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard, and Terry Beech, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister and Member of Parliament for Burnaby North-Seymour, met with the High Bar and Stswecem'c Xgat'tem Nations, and the Fraser Salmon Management Council yesterday.
