The management plan for Prince Edward Island National Park was tabled in Parliament on Friday, November 24th. Reviewed every 10 years, management plans are a legislative requirement of the Canada National Parks Act and guide the management of Parks Canada’s places.
Located in Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in traditional territory, S.S. Keno was one of a fleet of riverboats that played an important role in the history of the Yukon Territory.
Larry Bagnell, Member of Parliament for Yukon, on behalf of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, Catherine McKenna, today commemorated the importance of S.S. Keno and Dredge No. 4 as sites of national historic significance.
The Honourable Larry Bagnell, Member of Parliament for Yukon, will participate in a ceremony to unveil a Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada plaque to commemorate S.S. Keno and the Dredge No. 4 as national historic sites.
