Prince Edward Island National Park is a beautiful place with spectacular red cliffs, majestic sand dunes, beaches, sparkling waterways, wetlands and forests. The landscape within its borders bears evidence of hundreds – and in some cases thousands – of years of history, telling the tales of its evolution and the impact of both natural and human events.
Today, Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri Food and Member of Parliament for Cardigan, on behalf of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, Catherine McKenna, announced more than $23 million for various projects at Parks Canada sites on Prince Edward Island. The Honourable Wade MacLauchlan, Premier of Prince Edward Island, took part in an event at Green Gables Heritage Place to welcome these investments.
The Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, Catherine McKenna, will celebrate Parks Day by inviting locals for a community paddle at Thousand Islands National Park.
Mr. Randy Boissonnault, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Member of Parliament for Edmonton Center, will take part in an event highlighting new investments in a funding announcement from the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, Catherine McKenna, in Elk Island National Park in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
