The Government of Canada is committed to working with partners and stakeholders across the country in support of the global goal of ending viral hepatitis, HIV and other sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBI) as public health threats. The contribution of community-based organizations is central to Canada’s ability to achieve these targets.
Today, the Honourable Mark Holland, Minister of Health, announced more than $9.5 million in funding through the HIV and Hepatitis C Community Action Fund (CAF) and the Harm Reduction Fund (HRF) for 12 projects to support the work of community-based organizations addressing HIV, hepatitis C and other sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBI) throughout the Atlantic region.

ISAF funded projects aim to address the root causes of long-standing community health challenges or those heightened by COVID-19, or implement activities that build on or advance intersectoral initiatives to expand their reach or impact. Below is a summary of the thirteen additional projects receiving funding from ISAF.
Today, the Honourable Mark Holland, Minister of Health announced an investment of close to $1.8 million through the Intersectoral Action Fund (ISAF) to support thirteen organizations in addressing some of the complex public health challenges that affect health equity and wellbeing.
Since its launch in 2017, and including these new investments, the IDCCF has invested in 41 projects totalling $14.7 million. The IDCCF has also provided $2.75 million to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research for the Canadian Lyme Disease Research Network.

These projects will increase monitoring efforts and improve overall awareness and understanding of climate-sensitive infectious diseases in Canada.
