Through Budget 2022: A Plan to Grow Our Economy and Make Life More Affordable, the Government of Canada will make targeted and responsible investments to create good jobs, grow the economy, and build a Canada where nobody gets left behind. Today, Yvan Baker, Member of Parliament for Etobicoke Centre, and the Honourable Marci Ien, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth, met with Baka Mobile to hear about their environmentally conscious company policies and highlight commitments to reaching net-zero emissions by making the switch to zero-emission vehicles more affordable.

The Government of Canada is committed to championing gender equality and taking action to ensure that women and girls can succeed in Canada and around the world. The Honourable Marci Ien, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth, led the Canadian delegation to the 66th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW66), which concluded today. The event was held between March 14 and 25, 2022, both virtually and in New York City.

Gender-based violence is a serious human rights violation, a major public health risk, a national security concern, and a significant barrier to gender equality in Canada. Today, the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, MP for Compton—Stanstead, on behalf of the Honourable Marci Ien, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth, announced $237,087 for the Corporation de développement Communautaire (CDC) of Haut-Saint-François’s new project to address gender-based violence.
