Canada and our constituency partners are firmly committed to supporting the government and people of Ukraine in their fight against Russia’s illegal invasion. Since February 2022, Canada has provided over C$8 billion in direct financial, military, and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, and imposed strict sanctions on Russia and Belarus. Ireland has contributed bilaterally, via EU support, and through extensive support to refugees.

Today, the PSAC informed the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) that it has received a positive strike vote from the membership of the EB (Education and Library), PA (Program and Administrative Services), SV (Operational Services) and TC (Technical Services) bargaining units.
The Executive Group of the Media Freedom Coalition strongly condemns the Russian Federation's detention of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich. The detention of journalists under the guise of espionage charges is troubling and undermines the basic principles of democracy and rule of law. Mr. Gershkovich is a widely respected journalist who has spent years reporting on events in Russia with insight and integrity.
April is Oral Health Month in Canada and an opportunity to highlight the importance of maintaining good oral health as part of a healthy lifestyle. Practising good oral hygiene is an important factor in preventing some chronic diseases. Poor oral health can contribute to serious health conditions such as respiratory, cardiovascular and brain diseases, as well as cancer and diabetes.Oral diseases and conditions are common and widespread across Canada; however, brushing and flossing your teeth daily; drinking fluoridated water; and avoiding tobacco, cannabis, e-cigarettes, alcohol, sugary beverages and foods can help to prevent them. It’s also important to check your mouth regularly for any signs of oral diseases and conditions, and to schedule regular visits with an oral health professional.
