Thank you…
I am very excited to be here with you today-to talk about our country and the important role we can play together as Canadians-and you as cities and towns-to protect the climate of the planet we share.
Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to summarize what the Minister of International Development [Marie-Claude Bibeau], the Minister of Defence [Harjit Singh Sajjan] and the Prime Minister [Justin Trudeau] himself have just expressed.
It is an interesting and challenging time to be in public service and to occupy a position of leadership and stewardship, and I think the two go together.
Speech for the Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, at the opening of the National Roundtable on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Thank you and good afternoon everybody. Merci et bon après-midi à tous. It's a pleasure to be here with my colleague, Minister McKenna, for such an important announcement, and I want to thank her for her leadership and hard work.
I am pleased to have this opportunity to meet with you to discuss Canada's commitment to and actions within La Francophonie, 10 months before the summit in Madagascar next November.
I am here because I am impressed by this organization and the substance of your discussions today-the panels-are exactly the areas where the Prime Minister would like us to tackle some of our biggest challenges. Allow me to set out a few challenges for you as well as some direction.
