The federal Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and Associate Minister of Health is announcing the granting of a time-limited exemption for three years under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) so that adults in the province of British Columbia will not be subject to criminal charges for personal possession of small amounts of certain illegal drugs. This exemption only applies to adults 18 years of age and older in B.C.
Today, the Government of Canada recognizes World No Tobacco Day. This annual event organized by the World Health Organization aims to raise awareness about the harms of tobacco, as well as the benefits of quitting smoking.
