So, in the brief time we have this morning, let me take you back to the storylines for our project. Then let us touch on the steps we have taken so far in production, and end on how diverse perspectives are bringing our project to life.

Its apt because a triangle is a remarkably stable structure, and one where each of the sides supports, and is supported by, the two others. So I will touch on each corner in turn, describing the work we are doing on each at the CRTC, and show how we are promoting competition and consumer empowerment as foundational blocks that hold up our policy triangle.

It is a pleasure to be here with you all today to bring you the annual CRTC update. My colleague, Nirmala Naidoo, Commissioner for Alberta and the Northwest Territories has delivered this address for the past few years.

With that out of the way, I would like to get to the things we can discuss, especially considering the theme of this year’s conference: “The Dollars and Sense of Telecom.” Because for many of the members here today, the CRTC’s recent regulatory decisions create the potential to open up new market opportunities for service providers willing to seize them.
