The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today issued this statement: “Canada congratulates Maia Sandu on her re-election as President of the Republic of Moldova.
"We, the G7 Foreign Ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and the High Representative of the European Union, condemn in the strongest terms the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) October 31 (local time) launch of an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM), following other launches using ballistic missile technology.
Forced displacement of individuals has reached record levels worldwide this year, as millions are driven from their homes by escalating conflicts, emerging crises, persecution and the effects of climate change. This has resulted in unprecedented humanitarian needs, requiring global cooperation to help the world’s most vulnerable.
