Recently I learned that the revitalization of Botterell Hall is now complete. The new Mitchell Hall is also now open, and it provides more space for the engineering department and helps students access important health and wellness services.

Since I was last here, this campus has been through some changes. I know the MacNaughton Building has had an overhaul as well as the McLaughlin Library and four other projects.

Thank you very much, David, and thank you all for being here. It’s a pleasure to join you once again. I always look forward to this particular event in Ottawa every year.
I would like to start by thanking Grand Chief Ed John for his kind introduction and for inviting me to this event. I would also like to thank Elder Bob Baker for his thoughtful opening prayer.

Thank you, bonjour, bon matin. I was supposed to be here yesterday. I really wanted to make the announcement yesterday here in Sudbury, but the weather wouldn’t cooperate. I spent last night trying to convince Air Canada to make a special flight for me to arrive in Sudbury but here we are.
I do not think the workload is ever going to go down. The important thing is that we have to learn the tools of personal and organizational resilience and make sure that fatigue does not turn into bad behaviours, harassment, or interpersonal conflicts. We do have to learn to work at a high tempo and with a heavy workload. That is the Public Service that we are headed towards.
