The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, and Member of Parliament for Central Nova, will announce Homelessness Partnering Strategy funding to prevent and combat homelessness in Halifax.
Today, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada Peter MacKay and Joan Crockatt, Member of Parliament for Calgary Centre, announced funding of $160,000 over two fiscal years to the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre to develop expertise in specialized child abuse forensic interviewing and to extend forensic interviewing and extending support to rural and First Nations communities in Southern Alberta where this specialized expertise does not exist.
On July 23, 2015 at about 1:20 p.m., correctional officers at Drummond Institution, a medium security federal institution in Drummondville, intercepted an inmate who was attempting to bring contraband (296 ecstasy and 101 amphetamine tablets) into the institution.
