Members of the Canadian Armed Forces and Fisheries and Oceans protection officers concluded a successful two-week sweep over the North Pacific Ocean as part of Operation Driftnet, which resulted in the seizure of a vessel alleged to have violated international fisheries regulations.

The Canadian Coast Guard announces the reopening of its seasonal rescues stations in Bainsville (Ontario), Pointe-Anglais (Oka), Beaconsfield, Longueuil, Sorel and Trois-Rivières. These bases will be in regular operation starting at noon May 30, 2014 until September 1, 2014, Monday to Thursday between the hours of 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. and Friday to Sunday between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.
