Wednesday, July 22, 2015-The Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), and Wladyslaw Lizon, Member of Parliament for Mississauga East-Cooksville, will announce support for community infrastructure that will benefit residents in Mississauga.
Senator Rose-May Poirier, on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announced $1,144,963 in federal funding for drinking water system upgrades in Bouctouche, and $699,953 for sanitary and storm sewer system upgrades in Saint-Antoine. Senator Poirier was joined by Benoît Bourque, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Kent South, on behalf of the Honourable Brian Kenny, New Brunswick Minister of Environment and Local Government, Aldéo Saulnier, Mayor of the Town of Bouctouche, and Roseline Maillet, Mayor of the Village of Saint-Antoine.

As parents across the country prepare to send their kids back to school, the Government of Canada is providing them with much-needed support through the increased Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB). The Honourable Pierre Poilievre, Minister of Employment and Social Development, along with Tilly O'Neill-Gordon, Member of Parliament for Miramichi, highlighted the boosted payments provided to families today in Miramichi. The increased UCCB will provide almost $2,000 per year for each child under 6, and $720 per year for each child aged 6 through 17.
Versatile will receive up to $220,000 in funding through the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) to support development of a continuously variable transmission (CVT) for agricultural farm tractors, and to create hydraulic installation models and drawings for tillage equipment.
Canada's associate membership in EUREKA was renewed by John R. McDougall, President of the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) during a ceremony in Lugano, Switzerland earlier this month, giving Canadian innovators access to the international network for market-driven industrial research and development until 2018.
