Sarah Van Den Boom's In Deep Waters, co-produced by the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) and Papy 3D, received the Festivals Connexion Award – Région Rhône-Alpes, presented in partnership with Lumières Numériques at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival's special awards ceremony on June 19. The jury members were Vanessa Lhoste (De l'écrit à l'écran Festival in Montélimar), Alexis Vachon (Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux Film Festival) and Julien Poujade (Rencontres des cinémas d'Europe in Aubenas).

The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) wishes to congratulate Matthew Rankin on winning the "Off-Limits" Award for his short film Mynarski: chute mortelle (Mynarski Death Plummet) at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. This independent animated short was supported by the NFB French Program's ACIC (Aide au cinéma indépendant – Canada) program and produced by the filmmaker and Gabrielle Tougas-Fréchette.
