The Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, issued the following statement in remembrance of the humanitarian evacuation known as Operation Parasol
Minister of Health Leona Aglukkaq and the Chief Public Health Officer, Dr. David Butler-Jones, today confirmed 16 new cases of H1N1 flu virus, bringing the total number of laboratory confirmed cases in Canada to 101.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) indicates that it has found H1N1 flu virus in a swine herd in Alberta. The safety of the food supply is not affected and Canadian pork continues to be safe to eat.
The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) today confirmed 34 new cases of H1N1 flu virus, bringing the total number of laboratory confirmed cases in Canada to 85.
