The City of Red Deer will benefit from a $5 million investment from Canada's New Government and the Government of Alberta in two municipal infrastructure projects that will increase access to local businesses, reduce traffic congestion and promote healthy, active lifestyles.

Oda, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Status of Women, Dave Batters, Member of Parliament (Palliser), today announced $15,000 in funding for Living Skies Festival of Words Inc to present the 2007 Saskatchewan Festival of Words, which will take place July 19 to 22 in Moose Jaw.
Ted Menzies, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade, will lead the Canadian trade mission to India from March 12 to 16, 2007. The Honourable David Emerson, Minister of International Trade, is unable to travel due to illness.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper, joined by Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach, announced that Canada's New Government intends to provide Alberta with $155.9 million, as part of a new Canada ecoTrust to support provincial projects that will result in real reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants.
