The Municipality of Chelsea will receive $6,141,704 in government funding from the Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund. This government funding will be used to build a recreational and cultural centre in Chelsea, the Meredith Centre. The new building will include a community centre, a double gymnasium and a skating rink, for a total of 4,320 square metres.

A second national symposium on the importance and impact of financial literacy in Canada is set to begin on September 9th in Montreal. Reaching Higher: Canadian Conference on Financial Literacy is organized by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC), Social and Enterprise Development Innovations (SEDI) and the Joint Forum of Financial Market Regulators (Joint Forum). The two-day conference will look at Canadian and international experiences in developing, measuring, delivering and evaluating financial literacy programs, products and services.
