KELOWNA - The Government of Canada has committed $470,000 through the ecoENERGY for Renewable Heat program to the Okanagan-Shuswap Solar Project which will support the installation of solar water heating systems in 470 new homes in the Central Okanagan. The announcement was made today by Ron Cannan, Member of Parliament for Kelowna-Lake Country, on behalf of the Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of Natural Resources, at the Okanagan Environmental Industry Conference.

Thirty Canadians with disabilities from Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Stayner, Creemore, Blue Mountains and Meaford will be better prepared to find meaningful employment or become self employed through a new local project. The Honourable Helena Guergis, Secretary of State (Foreign Affairs and International Trade) (Sport) and Member of Parliament for Simcoe¿Grey, on behalf of the Honourable Monte Solberg, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, announced funding for the project led by Breaking Down Barriers Independent Living Centre.
The Canadian Transportation Agency issued its Decision today ordering Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz to ensure sufficient floor space is provided for certified service animals at the person with a disability's seat.
