Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière-Chutes-Chaudière and Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Labour and Minister of Canada Economic Development, today announced $472,500 in repayable funding to Multina Inc., a manufacturing company specializing in the production and delivery of turnkey interior and exterior outfitting systems for transport vehicles such as trains, buses, personal watercraft and snowmobiles.
The Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Minister for Democratic Reform, the Honourable Peter Van Loan, will lead an international conference, "How the International Community can support UN efforts in Burma/Myanmar," on March 27, 2008, in Québec City. The conference is organized by Laval University in cooperation with Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada.

The Government of Canada is supporting seniors in Quebec by making sure they have the opportunity to participate and take an active leadership role within the community.
The Honourable Stockwell Day, Minister of Public Safety, along with the Honourable John Foran, Minister of Public Safety of New Brunswick, today announced that the Government of Canada will provide New Brunswick with $8.8 million as part of a new Police Officers Recruitment Fund. This Fund supports the Government of Canada's national effort to recruit 2,500 police officers and provides flexibility to the provinces and territories in hiring additional personnel across the country.
