Mr. Rodney Weston, Member of Parliament for Saint John, on behalf of the Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of the Environment and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, today announced the designation of the Ordnance Building, in Saint John, New Brunswick as a National Historic Site of Canada, on the recommendation of the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada. Built in 1842 by Britain's Royal Engineers as a place to store military arms and equipment, the Ordnance Building has been part of the heritage of Saint John, New Brunswick for over 170 years.
