Levy as a part-time member (employer) of the Canada Industrial Relations Board. “Mr. Levy's exceptional educational background, professional development and achievements in human resources and labour relations make him an excellent candidate for the Canada Industrial Relations Board,” said Minister Fontana. “The Board will value his knowledge and outstanding experience in the fields of human resources and labour relations.” Depuis 2002, M. Levy est directeur chez ADL Consulting, une firme de consultants spécialisée en règlement des conflits, en ressources humaines et en relations de travail. Au cours de sa carrière, il a occupé divers postes de gestion : de 2002 à 2003, il a été directeur des ressources humaines au sein de l'organisme Les Infirmières de l'Ordre de Victoria et de 2000 à 2003, il a assumé les fonctions de gestionnaire des relations industrielles et de travail à TVOntario. Il a également travaillé, de 1996 à 2000, à titre de spécialiste des relations de travail à l'Hôpital Riverdale, puis de directeur des relations de travail au centre gériatrique Baycrest, de 1989 à 1996, et de gestionnaire des relations de travail à l'Hôpital général de Toronto, de 1987 à 1989. In 2002, Mr. Levy received a Master of Laws (Alternative Dispute Resolution) from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. He also obtained a Master of Industrial Relations from the University of Toronto in 1980 and a Bachelor of Arts (Major in Political Science) from the University of Winnipeg in 1977. Mr. Levy holds several memberships. He is an Executive Board Member of the following associations: the ADR Section of the Ontario Bar Association, Homes First Society, Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario and the Toronto Area Industrial Relations Association. He is also a member of the American Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, American Bar Association, Mediation Institute of Ontario and American Arbitration Association. Mr. Levy has been a frequent lecturer and instructor at the University of Toronto, York University and Ryerson University over the past 10 years. Last summer, he was also a guest lecturer at the following Australian universities: Monash University, University of Sydney, Western Sydney University, Australian National University and Canberra University. The Canada Industrial Relations Board, which came into effect on January 1, 1999, is an independent representational, quasi-judicial tribunal whose mandate is to interpret and apply the provisions under Part I of the Canada Labour Code dealing with bargaining rights and unfair labour practices.
