VANCOUVER - On Tuesday, March 1, in Vancouver, the Honourable R. John Efford, Minister of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), will address the International Workshop on the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures. This event will address guidelines for regulating wood packaging material to prevent the spread of invasive alien species through international trade routes. The event is hosted by NRCan and sponsored by the International Plant Protection Convention and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Later that afternoon, Minister Efford will meet with members of the Surrey Chamber of Commerce to discuss the 2005 Budget. After the meeting, the Minister will be available to the media.
