OTTAWA, April 4, 2005 -- The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is providing $99,835 to eight applicants to support their participation in the environmental assessment, by a review panel, of the proposed Rabaska liquefied natural gas (LNG) project. The recipients are: the Conseil régional de l'environnement Chaudière-Appalaches (CRECA); Les amis de la terre; Les amis de la vallée du Saint-Laurent; Gaétan Paradis; the Association québécoise de lutte contre la pollution atmosphérique (AQLPA); the Institut nord-américain de recherche en tourisme Inc.; the Groupe d'initiatives et de recherches appliquées au milieu (GIRAM); and the Conseil régional de l'environnement - région de la capitale nationale. All of the Funding Review Committee's recommendations were unanimous and are contained in the Committee's report.
