2006 Nova Scotia International Air Show Prepares for Take-Off

The 2006 Nova Scotia International Air Show will take place
on the weekend of September 9 and 10 this year, thanks in
part to assistance from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities
Agency (ACOA).The 2006 Air Show will feature both military and civilian
aircraft and performers, including the US Air Force's
gigantic new C-17 "Globemaster III" military transport and
the ever-popular Canadian Forces Snow Birds precision
flying team. ACOA is investing $150,000 to assist with
operational requirements associated with the show,
including marketing and administrative costs."Atlantic Canada has a strong aerospace industry that
employs thousands of Atlantic Canadians," said the
Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of Foreign Affairs and
Minister of ACOA. "The Nova Scotia International air show
is an opportunity to promote that sector and celebrate its
successes. It's also a chance to watch some amazing
aircraft and pilots doing what they do best.""The Nova Scotia International Air Show Association is
pleased to be putting on another great show this year," said Executive Director Colin
Stephenson. "The Air Show is a favourite annual event that
attracts thousands of visitors, and we're hoping everyone
will come out and support us again this year." In addition to the air- and ground-based activities at
Halifax International Airport over the weekend of September
9 and 10, industry members will participate in a trade show
on September 7 and 8 at Pier 21 in Halifax showcasing
Atlantic Canadian aerospace business expertise to large
multi-national companies and to the Canadian Government.FOR BROADCAST USE:
