OTTAWA, Ont – The Canadian Land Force Doctrine and Training System (LFDTS), in collaboration with the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries, will host a conference at the Ottawa Congress Centre where news media will have opportunities to access displays and conduct interviews with keynote speakers on September 26 and 27.
To assist our deployed forces in completing their dangerous missions successfully, it is critical that we develop the most efficient tools to conduct effective and high quality training. This conference will focus on development efforts currently underway to maximize the potential impact of simulation tools in Mission Rehearsal, Battlefield Visualization, In-theatre Training and Course of Action Analysis.
The speakers include: Lt.-Gen.Walter Natynczyk, Vice Chief of the Defence Staff; Maj.-Gen. Stuart Beare, Commander Land Force Doctrine and Training System; Lt.-Col. Rusty Bassarab, Director Land Synthetic Environments; Lt.-Col. Buck Surdu, Project Manager Defence U. S. Advanced Research Projects Agency; Col. James Shufelt, Director, Training and Doctrine Command Proponent Integration Office, Virtual Training Environment, US Army Combined Arms Centre; Col. Pat Stogran, Vice President Pearson Peacekeeping Centre; Maj. Todd Strickland, Deputy Commanding Officer 1 PPCLI (returning from Afghanistan); Paul Roman, Associate Professor at RMC; Lochlan Magee, Defence Research and Development Canada Toronto; Vice President, Ngrain, Gabe Bastone; Mike Parlow, Object Raku; and Bruce Leistikow, Acusoft.
