CALGARY - October 4, 2006 - Export Development Canada (EDC) yesterday presented the Canadian Innovation Award for Diversification of Export Markets to Jay-Lor Fabricating Inc. of Orton, Ontario for the company's growing exports of cattle-feed mixing equipment. The Awards were part of the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) Fifth Western Canada Conference, sponsored by EDC and other industry partners. "EDC is proud to be part of this award program that encourages international trade and innovation, areas where EDC's services can help take Canadian businesses to new heights," said Eric Siegel, EDC's Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Siegel presented the award to the President of Jay-Lor, Jake Tamminga.Jay-Lor designs and manufactures Total Mix Ration (TMR) feed mixers for dairy and beef farmers. The Diversification of Export Markets Award recognizes that the company's high-quality equipment is increasingly being used by farmers in some 17 countries outside Canada, including Australia, China, Columbia, France and Mexico. Jay-Lor's feed mixers contribute to increased milk production and herd health, while saving farmers around the world time and energy. The CME also presented awards in the following categories:

New Product Design & Commercialization to Mechtronix Systems Inc., Montreal;
Environmental Technology to ADI International Inc., Fredericton;
Healthy & Safer Workplace to Imperial Oil Limited, Calgary;
Development of Export Sales to Alberta Oil Tool, Edmonton;
New Technology to Pressure Pipe Inspection Company Ltd.,Toronto; and
Innovative Business of the Year to Flexpipe Systems Inc., Calgary.
