The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission invite you to participate in an information session concerning the Joint Review Panel processes for the Bruce Power New Nuclear Power Plant Project (Bruce Power Project) and for the Ontario Power Generation Deep Geological Repository for Low and Intermediate-Level Radioactive Waste Project (DGR Project), both located in the Municipality of Kincardine, Ontario.
The Joint Review Panel process allows for the environmental assessment and licensing processes to be conducted in parallel, although decisions are taken at different stages. This will allow for a more streamlined set of regulatory procedures.
The session is an opportunity to learn about the way in which the Joint Review Panel processes will operate, with a focus on two key documents per projects: the Printable version in PDF format (502kb, 70 pages) and Joint Review Panel (JRP) agreement (PDF, 70.9 KB).
These information sessions are being held during the comment period on the projects' draft EIS guidelines and JRP agreements, which runs from April 4, 2008 to June 18, 2008. For more information about these draft documents and to learn how to provide your comments, please visit www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca, www.nuclearsafety.gc.ca or contact the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency by phone at 1-866-582-1884 or by email at Bruce.Review@ceaa-acee.gc.ca (Bruce Power Project) and DGR.Review@ceaa-acee.gc.ca (DGR Project).
