The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is launching a 45-day consultation on a proposal to remove groundwater extraction projects for municipal/community drinking water from the Comprehensive Study List Regulations (CSLR).
The outcome of this amendment would result in municipal/community drinking water projects no longer requiring a comprehensive study and rather being subject to a screening type environmental assessment.
The Agency invites interested parties to review and provide comments on the consultation document which describes the proposal.
Interested parties should forward their comments, questions and/or suggestions in the official language of their choice by July 28, 2008 to:
