Media Release
Ottawa, September 5, 2008
The Advisory Panel on Canada's System of International Taxation has released the written submissions that were received during its consultation period.
The Panel, which was struck by the Government of Canada in November 2007 to help guide the establishment of an international tax policy framework, launched its consultation process in April 2008. More than thirty written submissions have been received and are now available on the Panel's website (www.apcsit-gcrcfi.ca).
"We thank the many Canadian companies, individuals and organizations who have taken the time and effort to submit their views to us," said Peter C. Godsoe, O.C., the Panel's chair. "We look forward to reviewing all submissions and recommendations and will draw upon them in our deliberations and the preparation of our final report later this year."
The Panel intends to provide its recommendations to the Minister of Finance by December 1, 2008.
