GATINEAU, Quebec, September 26, 2008 - Public Works and Government Services Canada wishes to advise all motorists that the Ottawa-bound lane will be reduced in width and become narrower for vehicles from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. beginning on Monday, September 29, until Friday, October 3. We also wish to advise pedestrians and cyclists that the boardwalk will be reduced in width 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday.
These lane and boardwalk reductions are necessary to perform routine maintenance inspections of the bridge.
Although the bridge will remain open to all users, we ask everyone to exercise extreme caution, since inspection crews will be working close to the road surface.
The schedule may change subject to weather conditions.
Public Works and Government Services Canada apologizes for any inconvenience these lane and boardwalk reductions may cause.
