Victims of terrorism will soon have the ability to sue perpetrators and supporters of terrorism in Canadian courts, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced today.
"Our government will introduce legislation to enable victims of terrorism to seek justice against individuals, organizations and foreign states that support terrorism," said the Prime Minister. "This will help many victims seek long-overdue justice against those who have harmed them and their families. It also sends a clear message that our government will hold the sponsors and perpetrators of terrorism accountable for their crimes."
Details will be provided by the Minister of Public Safety when the legislation is introduced later this week.
