On June 29, 2009, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) issued a statement on Iran, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan and São Tomé and Príncipe. The statement reiterates the FATF's previous concerns with respect to the AML/CFT risks presented by these countries.
Accordingly, the FINTRAC advisory of February 27, 2009, which called for increased vigilance when dealing with entities from Iran, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, and São Tomé and Príncipe, remains in effect.
