On August 6, 2009, Mr. Raymond Leduc of Bromont, Quebec, was appointed as a member of the NRC Council – a group of science, technology and business leaders who provide strategic direction for the organization.
"I look forward to working closely with Mr. Leduc," says NRC President Dr. Pierre Coulombe. "His extensive management experience in high technology manufacturing and business planning will make him a distinct asset to NRC."
Mr. Leduc is Director and Senior Location Executive with IBM Bromont, where he leads a high technology operation providing microelectronic solutions for IBM’s servers and storage products. He is recognized for his product launch skills, financial leadership, operational management, and for successfully leading organizational change.
Mr. Leduc obtained his M.B.A. from McGill University in 1991. He also completed a B.Eng. from McGill University in 1981. Mr. Leduc recently completed a Directors Education Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
"I’m honoured to be joining the NRC – a leader in science, technology, and innovation in Canada," says Mr. Leduc. "I hope that my business skills and experience will help strengthen NRC’s links with industry and allow us to bring more Canadian innovations to market."
NRC Council consists of the President and up to 21 members appointed by the federal government for a three-year renewable term. Members are responsible for providing effective, independent governance in support of policies and strategies related to NRC’s business affairs. The Council provides leadership and vision to NRC in the public interest and fosters ethical, responsible decision making within NRC.
