QUÉBEC – Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, has released a list of Magdalen Islands Area fishers fined by Judge Jean-Paul Décoste on August 5, 2009, for various violationsof the Fisheries Act.
The total amount of the fines imposed on the fishers is $13,650, plus a fishing licence suspension for the first four days of the 2010 season. The offenders are:
The Department has a mandate to protect and conserve fishery resources and is ever vigilant in its efforts to prevent poaching of marine resources.
