QUÉBEC – Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, has released a list of Gaspé and Lower St. Lawrence Area fishers fined by judges Julie Dionne and Luc Marchildon in September and October 2009 for various violations of the Fisheries Act.
The fines total $20,200, plus partial confiscation of gear. The offenders are:
The Department has a mandate to protect and conserve fishery resources and is ever vigilant in its efforts to prevent poaching of marine resources.
