Hilo, Hawaii, January 21, 2010 – Media representatives are invited to attend field tests demonstrating potential technologies for future space exploration initiatives on February 4, 2010 near Hilo, Hawai'i. These field tests include equipment, concept vehicles, space medicine training exercises and space science activities that illustrate how future explorers might use in-situ resources for exploration, building infrastructure, and human survival.
Hosted by the Pacific International Space Center for Exploration System (PISCES) at the University of Hawai'i, Hilo, these field tests bring together Canadian, U.S., and German scientists and engineers. The international teams will work together to test concepts for survival, transportation, communication, fuel production and construction on other planetary bodies.
