Charlottetown, PEI, June 30, 2010 - The Canada Pavilion, the Government of Canada’s travelling exhibit, will be featured at the Charlottetown Summerfest from June 30 to July 4.
“The Government of Canada is pleased to bring the Canada Pavilion to the Charlottetown Summerfest this year,” said the Honorable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Public Works and Government Services and Minister for Status of Women. “Our Government is proud to offer the opportunity for Canadians and visitors to learn more about government priorities and the programs and services available to them.”
The Canada Pavilion participates in various events across the country, travelling to each province once a year. It allows Canadians to meet face-to-face with Government of Canada representatives in an inviting, interactive and informative environment. The Canada Pavilion has won numerous prizes since its creation in 2000 and has welcomed more than seven million visitors.
The theme of this year’s Pavilion is Canada’s biodiversity, recognizing that 2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity. Visitors will be able to learn more about programs and services related to biodiversity and participate in several interactive games. They will also be able to express their opinions on Canada’s uniqueness at the National Capital Commission’s exhibit.
Several government departments and agencies will be present in the Pavilion at the Charlottetown Summerfest, including Canada Revenue Agency, which will be promoting their Donor Services. Other departments featured are Veterans Affairs Canada, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Service Canada, Public Works and Governments Services Canada’s Translation Bureau and Canada Space Agency.
