OTTAWA, ONTARIO, NOVEMBER 17, 2010-I wish to congratulate the Canadian National Railway Company (CN), Montréal, Quebec, and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference on ratifying their collective agreements.
Our economy remains fragile, and its continued growth depends on the productivity of companies like CN. Our government supports strong labour-management relations that benefit our country's economic prosperity, the security of Canadians, and service to our communities.
I also wish to thank the mediators from the Government of Canada's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service who assisted the parties throughout their negotiations.
